Kota Damansara is a township located in Petaling
Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It is spread across
4,000 acre (16 km) of land.
The township was previously a forest reserve,
bordered in the west by the Sungai Buloh
Industrial Park, in the south by the Tropicana
Golf and Country Club and on the south-east by
Bandar Utama Damansara. The development of Kota
Damansara first began in 1992 and was initially
undertaken solely by PKNS. The pace of development
picked up when PKNS decided to develop parcels via
joint ventures or privatisation in 2005. Excluding
developments by private developers and joint
ventures, PKNS has launched more than 8,500 units,
with an average take up rate of more than 85%. As
at end of 2005, the estimated population of Kota
Damansara was 300,000 and rising . It
is listed as one of the most developing housing
markets because of its easy accessibility.
